So I bought a Stila smudge pot in black because everyone told me it would make a great eyeliner. I've always used pencil eyeliners but I wanted a darker intensity. (like the picture). I bought one of those gel eyeliner brushes and when I applied it to my eyes and it was sooo dull! My pencil eyeliner seems to go on darker and thicker than the smudge pot. Am I doing something wrong? I even tried applying it on my hand and it wasn't even a solid line, and I put quite a bit of product on the brush.

Maybe a primer or try liquid liner.

Its not really as much as you put on the brush, you just have to make sure you go over your "line" a few times until you get the desired look. I'm not sure how the product works though, I've never used that one. Also make sure to go in feathery motions rather than a few long lines to make sure you fill in all the spaces.

Thank you Sydney, I'll have to try that. I've never used gel liner before but I'm not too impressed with this product. I expected it to go on smoother.

I've only heard of them being used as a base. I would just use a gel liner. I use Tarte and really like it.

I use stila smudge pot and love it. But for something like the picture, go over it a time or two. As for it going on smoothly, that might be something with a brush, because I haven't ever had that issue. For me it's so smooth that I won't go back to anything else.
