You can apply aloevera gel after shaving.

If you shave in the shower wait until you get used to the water temperature and then shave. It's kind of funny but I find if I start shaving off the get go while I'm still cold then I get more shaving bumps haha. Maybe this'll help? If not you can try applying cream after like the aloe Vera gel mentioned above!

I am no expert by any means, so I would definitely research my suggestions... This is research I came across a few year ago so I'm a little rusty and I could be mistaken with some information. Exactly how do you shave with the straight razor? I've heard of old techniques from way back when using a straight razor was common day practice that they would actually shave two to three times-once with the grain and then once again across (or perpendicular to) the grain, and finally against the grain. I actually used to use a similar shaving technique while shaving my legs and they were razor-bump free and super smooth and stayed smoother for much longer! It was a big of a task, but it helped a bit! And I know the skin on my legs is probably a jillion times more resilient than the skin on your face, so I would be a bit careful. Also, pulling the skin as tight as you possibly can while shaving with a straight razor should help you out quite a bit. Try exfoliating more often! This really helps a lot of people out. You can use a facial scrub to gently remove dead skin cells which should help with creating a smoother surface to shave on AND help ease and minimize any bumps you may have. You can try steaming your face to open up the pores before shaving as well!

Ah wonderful, that sounds like you've got it down! I would really just suggest exfoliating to prevent them on your throat then, it should help =)

Make sure that you use a lotion after you shower and lots of shaving cream when you shave. :)

XoJane tweeted an article today about this. Apparently, you want something called TendSkin.

Skin tight extra strength!! It's sold at Sally's beauty supply for around $13 you apply it on after you shave and it prevents bumps and ingrown hairs as well

There's a very simple solution. Don't shave straight away in the bath or shower; let the hair soften in the water and then shave. If you shave straight away you're more likely to get shaving bumps and cuts as the hair is more corse. So let it soften a bit 1st and as soon as you get our of the bath or shower you should moisturise while your skin is still a little damp :)

I personally swear by "bikini zone" cream. I get bad razor burn and it's the only thing that helps. Guys can use it too and you can use it on your face as well.

Baby oil works wonders and leaves your skin really smooth too.

I forgot to add - make sure you have a good razor. I use men's disposable razors with a moisturising strip. As its for men's faces they tend to give a better shave and without irritation :)

Try applying sunflower oil right after shaving, waxing or plucking. it smoothens and lightens it at the same time:)
