I use hot oil treatments 1 to 2 times a week. they make 100% natural stuff you can buy or you can just use olive, coconut, or almond oil (all really good for your hair). I have thin hair and since I've been using the oil it falls less and just seems thicker and healthier. hope this helps :)

I also have really thin hair. I've found that the only way to thicken my hair is to cut it shorter and add layers

You could use the olive oil (or coconut or almond or all of them mixed together) by placing some in a dish and heating it up. Then apply it to the entire length (if you place it on your roots make sure you shampoo well) and leave it on for as long as you want. It's good to put on a shower cap and take a warm shower so the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair better.

Biotin supplements make your hair grow and become stronger! Get them at any local drug store.

Massage in coconut oil and let it sit for a few hours, you could do this overnight with a towel protecting your pillowcase, the oil would condition your hair and add shine as well as being a form of nutrient for your hair, plus when you massage your hair you'd be encouraging a blood flow throughout the head/scalp which would increase growth -- this is an ancient indian remedy still widely followed :D.

I don't know if you count hair products as unnatural chemicals but bed head has some great thickening sprays that I find work very well on my extremely fine hair =]

When you wash your hair, DO NOT use hot water. Use regular temperature tap water. The hot water makes hair follicles loose its strength. Cold water locks moisture in to your hair and closes your hair cuticle. You will see your hair is shinier when you wash with cold water :)

Well try getting a hot oil treatment. Also flip your head up and down with hair to give it tons of volume.
