I've used it before until I found a cream that works well for me, but I'd say it depends on your skin type and sensitivity. It does work because as the paste dries, it dries out the pimple as well. The main side effects would be the obvious of leaving the paste on for too long thus drying out that certain area heaps, an if you use the paste as a whole mask not a spot treatment you could dry out your whole face. And if you have sensitive skin this can cause redness for a couple of hours or more, dry skin as I've mentioned - as a result of this: flaking, peeling, possible soreness etc. But these side effects area mainly from leaving the paste on for too lone. You can do spot treatments everyday or every 2 days, but I would not recommend that for a whole face mask for obvious reason. I hope I helped :)

If you do it once a week and do your facial treatment as well, like moisturiser and things then your skin will be fine. Once a week will do the trick

You can also use baking soda just as a face wash, mix it with water apply to your face and use it like a normal cleanser and rinse it off! It is working really well with my acne and not drying out my face

You can also use lemon juice/raw honey and diluted ACV (apple cider vinegar) preferably organic once a day and if tolerated and depending on your sensitivity, twice a day and either rinse off with cool water to tighten pores or leave on, again depending on your skin type.. You can first start off by making a toner 1:1 ratio with water and see how it goes.. It may last about a week, just use a cotton ball to swipe over on the face/ body prone to acne and even your back ( for gals with bacnce) out in a spray bottle and spray.. You can also add your own essential oils to it if you prefer to make it smell less vinegary.. The more its diluted the less it smells and vice-a-versa lol hope this helps :)

Some people like to use it straight up but it's more acidic and so is te not organic one so it may take a few trial and errors but the concept is down;)

I found that toothpaste reddens the area. I'll try the baking soda.
