I've always wanted to try plums and purples but I'm not sure how they would look with me skin tone. What colors would you recommend?

I think a deep warm red would look gorgeous on you! :) concerning the plums and purples, some might look a tad grey on you, but go for it!

I actually think a bright red would suit you as well. Actually, I think many shades of red would suit you, just as long as they're not a shade lighter than your skin tone.
