Anastasia Beverley hills has great brow powder and it gives you a shaper too. It's super easy and doable! I'm just starting to fill mine in, and it made it super helpful

If you feel it looks too dark, get a lighter shade or don't be heavy handed when filling in the brows. I use a combination of 2 colors: black (because my eyebrows are blck) and dark brown on top and on the outermost parts of my brows so that my eyebrows look more natural and my eyebrows won't look as harsh. When I use black alone, all you can see is eyebrows and no face lol. But I hope this helps :)

I was the same way when I started filling mine in. When my brows were filled in, and I looked in a mirror, I felt like all I saw was eyebrows. Lol. But of course friends and co workers never could tell. honestly I just played around with several different brow products before I found one I felt comfortable with. Eyebrows frame the face so if they need filling in, then it really helps tie the look together. But yeah it just takes some getting use to and playing around. And then you will find you can't leave the house without your 'eyebrows' Lol.

I went to Mac looking for a dark brown brow powder & the girl turned me on to a shadow called 'smut' it's perfect for your brows because its not too dark or too warm- I apply it with an angle brush & it's easy to soften if it seems too heavy.

The color you use to fill in your brows should be two shades lighter than your hair. I use Nyx's eyebrow pencil in charcoal to outline the shape of my brows. Then I use a small angled brush and take a light brown matte eye shadow to fill in the front of my eyebrow, where hair is naturally more sparse, then I use a dark brown to fill in the rest, which isn't too much as my eyebrows are already pretty full. I use concealer if I feel I need to clean it up a bit, then I comb it through with an eyebrow brush to get rid of harsh lines and soften it up. Hope this helps :)

Usually when a brow product is too dark, it's usually the brow color is too dark for the actual brow. Try to go with a shade 1 to 2 shades lighter than your actual brow color, because when you put a color in a color, it will look darker.

If you like the color you have but you want to soften it, apply your brow color, and then with a toothbrush or a mascara wand, brush through to soften and blend the color to the intensity you want. You can often take a color that looks too dark and blend it enough so that you can still wear it.

Also, when you apply your brow color, do it first before any other color makeup. You'll get the right intensity for your face without going too far. Most people do their brows at the end or after their eye makeup and then to try match, which can make it look too dark. You want your eyes to stand out, rather than your eyebrows.
