I used Lo'real Hi-lights in Red , with a 30 vol developer and it is a permanent hair dye. I really want to venture into different colors and/or even ombre the ends blonde. Do you guys have any suggestions? I probably sound silly cause its permanent, but it runs when I wash it, so I can only really assume it can be removed.

Vitamin c tablets ground up into a powder mixed with baking soda and dawn dish soap or head and shoulders wrap head in a towel and let sit for 1-2 hrs. it worked great for me...

I would be really careful of any color strippers too since the majority of them are just bleach, the really only advice I can give you would be to do a corrective color process on your hair, and if you want ombre then you're going to have to re dye your hair, there's not a lot you can do to get that color out without bleaching, than using the dawn dish soap or tide wash for hair- and what the other girls have said, but since your hair is naturally dry so I would be very careful of those things and deep condition/protein treatemnt (only once a week with the protein max) and I would suggest using coconut oil on hair overnight for deep conditioning, this is the best natural conditioner other than protein you can get! And then you'll probbaly just have to do the ombre with a two step process of bleaching/lightening your ends (since if you go to a salon anyways right now- they're just going to color over the color that's already on there, not take anything away from it unless you're lightening! :) But I would suggest for lightening you use the Ion creme lightener- this is infused with argan oil and is the best bleach I've ever used with minimal damage) and you need to use a neutral protein treatment on damp hair before you color, bleach, and tone hair EVERY TIME! This will avoid damaging your hair more than needed, but it will also seal the cuticles so the color will come out evenly. Also since your hair is red, you're going to need to get a brown that will cover the red, so look for something with cool and neutral undertones (so that the red underneath won't turn into brassy brown/golden brown/red undertones)so look for the letters A and N, stick with ashy medium/dark browns or neutral browns. I would not suggest any natural blacks because your hair is so dark, because if you think covering the red is bad now...but if you're wanting to color your hair a number of any other colors lighter than what it is now- like blondes or caramel shades then you can strip your color with a color stripper, but it can be very damaging, isn't gaurenteed to be even & not splotchy - so if you're going to go that route I would just suggest you use a proetin filler before also and just use the bleach above I told you about with a 30 or 40 developer (higher numbers for higher lifts) because it's the same process, the color stripper is just going to strip your color and melanin from your hair to give you a good base to apply color but you will need to watch it very carefully to make sure it's the color you want it to be. If you want to go blonde, you can double process with a color stripper and a bleach but again, be really carefull! And depending on what color you want your blonde ends, make sure you tone with a purple base if you want it to be more of a white blonde and not brassy- unless you want the caramel/pale yellow blonde. Hope this helps :)

Red is always going to rinse out but the undertone is going to stay so the best way to go is cover it up or go to a salon if you want it lighter

Try vitamin c and mix it with your shampoo. I would guess its a little less harsh than using dawn. leave it in for 45mins to an hour. repeat as much as needed but make sure you deep condition your hair when you're completely done because it will feel so stripped!
