I made a huge mistake that I usually would never make and I bleached my roots. The roots came out white while I had a brassy band a little farther down the strands of my hair. Very scared and upset I went to Sally's again and bought Demi permanent color for all over my hair. I had watched a video that said you could use a Demi that was on the same level of the brass to bring your hair back to your normal color. I thought I was a level 7 so I bought that color. I applied the color all over in hopes that this would be my last step. Not exactly, it covered the brass and gave me a very pretty color but instead of my roots being the same color they were yellow! I left it alone for a couple days and did a couple deep conditioners. Out of being so irritated with how it turned out I toned it thinking that this might help. Well nope my ends were now ashy purple and my roots were yellow. I called everywhere and the only place that could get me in was Ulta. I've always had a great experience with Ulta so I thought I would give it a go. I went in and the lady made me feel a lot better. She told me my roots were brassy and that my hair was still healthy. We decided on a shadow root and she mixed two warm colors together because she said if she used ashy colors it would make my hair turn green which I wasn't quite sure I understood. She put the color on and sure enough we rinse it and it's bright orange!! I couldn't believe it. She could tell I was upset and instead of trying to figure out what was going on with my hair she told me it was my fault that my hair pulled orange!! I have no idea what that means or why it would be my fault. So I had her cut my hair and I paid the woman $160 for a little color on the roots and a hair cut. I wasn't even going to argue. I would just like to know what is going on with my hair could someone please explain?

You got hot roots from the first round of lifting. The further away from your scalp you permit roots to grow, the more heat you lose..and this can effect color. But even then, there's other skill, product, and technique that comes into avoiding hot roots.

She's right about the ash and the potential for green, but that's her lack of skill talking because it can be done (and is) with talent. Warm was always going to pull red/orange with her, in my view. I would go back and talk to the store manager. You need this corrected...at no cost..or a full refund. I'd personally get the refund and go to a true salon with master colorists on staff.
The price is insanity and I am sorry you were taken advantage of in this way, and you'd do best to let a talented colorist correct it.

(But that's their job to know. I"m just sharing what I think you should know before you go back into the salon.) She breaks it down very simply with actual hair samples so you can see what took place initially, and what needs to take place now by applying color theory.

It's fixable so take a deep breath. I know it's very stressful and I'd be upset as well.
In the video, she explains what they should do, BUT, if your hair or scalp condition dictates you may have to wait a little, they should tone you free of charge, and you can also use quality purple shampoo (ULTA should give this on the house/Pureology or Pravana) to offer more blend at the root. Just watch how you wash, applying the purple shampoo at the root and letting water just run off to rinse on the ends. That keeps any greying of ends at bay. A dry shampoo that sprays white can be patted, blending it in to bring additional ash if needed.
I'd request a different stylist do the correction/examine the work. At this point, I'd be so fed up, I'd also request a Master. Hope that helps and that they can address this right away with a correction.
