I was prescribed Epiduo by my dermatologist and so far it has been helping my acne! But it has also been drying out my skin and causing some peeling. I started using epiduo every other day for two weeks, and on my third week I started using it everyday but that caused a little bit of a burning sensation so I went back to using it every other day, and gladly the burning has stopped. However, my skin is still dry, I know this is a common side effect of epiduo but I don't want to stop using it just because it has been helping. I read online that it was fine to apply moisturizer after applying epiduo. I have oily skin, in the morning I use Cerave spf 30 and at night I apply vaseline jelly (which isn't really a moisturizer) after applying epiduo. The vaseline jelly helps but only for a few hours. Even during the daytime when I use Cerave spf 30 my skin still tends to feel a little dry and you can see some peeling, so I apply a bit of vaseline on those areas but it doesn't really help. What do you ladies suggest I should use for my dry skin caused by epiduo? Should I continue to use my Cerave and vaseline? Thank you!

No strictly stop using cerave and vaseline...try lotus professional deep moisturising creme in day as well as at night in case epiduo is making your skin feels dry...vaseline is a petroleum jelly it can cause you aging too fast...you can find lotus professional phyto-rx deep moisturising creme on amazon...its herbal and chemical free...made up of natural ingredients...hope it'll help.

Definitely stop using the Vaseline and I suggest using the Fresh Rose Hydrating Face Cream, it has time release technology so it'll help keep you hydrated all day and all night (just apply morning and night like you would with a regular moisturizer)

Vaseline will not damage your skin unless you have a rare allergy to petrol products but it's more for protecting compromised skin than truly replenishing thirsty skin that needs tlc. You will get better results layering it over something. The CeraVe pm would likely be a bit too light. In this case you can apply something more rich at night. Is there anything you know you are sensitive to?

@Leuca S. There isn't anything that I'm sensitive too that I know of. I use the CeraVe am spf 30 moisturizer in the day time not the pm, but it hasn't been giving me enough moisture so I went back to my aveeno positively radiant spf 15.

The spf 30 is better for protection against sun damage. Layer a hydrating product underneath it. With a prescription retinoids having adequate sun protection is key.
Look into something like this. It's basic but it's great for use just after cleansing and should layer well with CeraVe if you aren't ready to commit to something more expensive. You only need a drop or two for each part of your face but you can slather it on if you want more.
