Getting a cut for curly hair!

Hello!!

I am planning on heading to a salon soon and I'm trying to do my research beforehand. I have curly/wavy hair. It was more curly before I decided to burn my hair on a daily basis but I've been trying to leave it and regrow it back into a healthy state. Slowly but surely, it's coming along. I've never had a haircut specifically for curly hair so I am a little new as to the terms & what to get. Right now my hair is kind of lying it one straight line down without much volume at either end. I part my hair to the side as well. I really rather not take off a lot of hair and just do a trim of sorts but maybe a few layers? I am looking for something along these lines. Are there any terms to describe this type of cut or style? I know it won't be exactly the same but I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row before going in. Thanks!!

This may suit to you the best...you can still have long hairs with this haircut...hope it'll help.
