Hi everyone. I had a question about how to find out the true texture of your hair. I had straight hair as a child, then it turned into waves and then it went into full curl mode for a few good years. I thought that was it. I'd have curly hair from then on but it took a beating with the overuse of the iron. I've been opting out of straightening it on a daily basis and putting it up in a bun because it was still growing out and regaining it's health. Now it's mid length and comes out curly on some sides and wavy on others. I do the scrunch method so I encourage the curls to spring but I'm wondering is there a way to find out the true texture without help from me. Like a certain towel/shirt method that doesn't inolve me forcing it to become curly. It's become harder to leave it down because one side curls and the other does a mix. I know it's a silly question but I am tired of sticking it into a bun. I hope that makes some sense??

I think it's a mix of a 2B&2C It's just been so hard to leave it down because the top does this flat thing now when it never did it before but my hair has been through too many chemicals and heat so it's understandable. Thanks so much for the information!! I wasn't sure if I should not scrunch it to see if it would go into waves but I guess then it would take forever to dry. Thanks again!!

I have the exact same problem! My hair is incredibly curly on the bottom and really straight on the top. I have been trying to figure out how to make the top curly with out making it soft and silky bc then it loses all curl.
