Ombré or dark purple hair.

I can't really decide which to do first. I like both hair colors but I'm unsure which would be more of an upkeep or damaging. I currently have dark brown hair and medium skin. Advice?

I think ombré would be a better idea because then if you do want a change, it won't be too hard. Ombré also looks natural so it is a good way to get used to having hair dye.
