Can anyone suggest some winter skin care tips? My skin has become very dry and itchy.

I've heard sleeping with a humidifier is great in the winter. It adds moisture into the air which helps with your dry skin issue.

Sheet masks and facial oils over your nighttime moisterizer. Also switching to a slightly more moisturizing foundation and day moisterizer or add a couple drops of a facial oil to your day moisterizer and foundation. I also like those in-shower moisterizing lotions.

Burts Bees Milk and Honey is my saving grace, I go through a whole tube every winter. It's heavy so it moisturizers very well (bonus, it's 98%+ natural, so you're getting real benefits not just short term relief), but even for a heavier lotion, it still soaks in well. Look for things with natural oils and butters, like vitamins and cocoa/almond/shea/ avocado butters, and oatmeal is excellent for soothing itchy skin. And last stitch, check out Lush or The Body Shop and ask them to help you find something suitable for your skin type :)

I agree with facial oils - they really help me and my psoriasis - which acts up in the winter when my skin is more dry - I like jojoba oil the best because it doesn't clog my pores and actually acts very much like the skins natural oil so your skin just soaks it up and ends up producing less oil throughout the day (if you get oily skin from over dryness) also invest in a high quality moisturizer with SPF for day time - it will also help and be sure to apply it every day - also try and reduce abrasive exfoliants because they can dry out your skin as well - you don't really need to use them more than once a week - and instead invest in a gentle chemical exfoliant like an AHA or BHA - hope that helps!

I've completely changed my skincare routine for the winter because I need so much more hydration in the winter. I use the NSPA deep hydrating facial oil, the Nivea creme moisturiser, Garnier micellar water for dry skin and the L'Or?al hydrating toner. These have really helped get rid of flakiness and redness. I also exfoliate every other day with the Garnier exfoliater for dull and tired skin, which keeps my skin from flakiness. I've found these products help so much in getting my skin back to where it is in the summer.

I am new to winter- I lived in SoCal my whole life and it never got cold. Now that I'm in Oregon, I've had to revamp my skincare. I'm using Boscia Tsubaki oil gel to cleanse, Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Gentle once a week and Pixi Glow Tonic to exfoliate 2-3 times a week. Takes away the flakiness that is common in cold weather. I use Fresh Rose Mask 3-4 times a week for hydration. I am addicted to the Dr Jart Ceramidin line. I use the liquid (which is really a serum) twice a day. I use the cream over the serum at night (it's a little thick for daytime for me). For day, I use Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation. I love Pixi Roseblend oil, Fresh Seaberry oil, Josie Maran argan oil (original) and Indie Lee Squalane oil. I alternate them depending on my skin's needs. And eye cream- Fresh Rose Eye Gel in the daytime and Shisheido Benefiance at night.

Dana is correct, we have a humidifier in our bedroom and it certainly helps but after cleansing & toning and applying my Monsia intense night repair cream I also apply vit E oil especially to neck, forehead and around eyes. This keeps my skin hydrated through the night and it feels really great in the morning.
