Hey guys!
I apologise to the moderators if this is in the wrong category. I have heard that coconut oil is amazing for skin and cooking etc.and has loads of different uses. I have oily (and spotty) skin so would using coconut oil be a no no? If it would work with my skin type what can you use it for?
I will insert a picture of the one I have and it is not 'liquid' oil. (I hope that makes sense).
Thanks for all the help in advance ♡♡♡♡♡

A lot of people experience breakouts with coconut oil because it can cause pores. If you're acne prone I would steer clear.

Check out this website , it talks about using oils to cleanse the face. I swear by it , I have oily/combination skin and this site has saved my skin.
I personally only use Coconut oil to remove my makeup , and as a deep conditioner in between bleaching/coloring my hair. I use it as a natural moisturizer for my skin (especially after I shave my legs ) since I have such sensitive skin.

It usually comes in the solid form and becomes a liquid as it is warmed by our body heat.

I personally can't use coconut oil for my skin, it breaks me out very badly, or for my hair, it makes my hair feel like straw. But I love it for cooking/baking!!
I would suggest doing a patch test on a small part of your face to see how your skin reacts.
Even if it doesn't work for your face, maybe it would be a good body moisturizer for you. My mom uses it all over her body after showering and swears by it

Coconut oil is "good" for skin in that it contains fatty acids/various trace nutrients, but it's got a large molecular weight and can easily clog up skin that is prone to pore issues.

Also, it solidifies relatively easily, so it needs to make contact with skin or be heated to liquefy unless you store it somewhere warm.

I only use it as a hair mask sometimes. I heat it then rub it on and leave it for an hour or longer if I have time. I enjoy it:)

Coconut oil will turn liquid at around 25 degrees, I'm Summer mine is liquid most of the time. :) I use it to remove makeup, put it on my lips over night, as a diy lip srub with sugar and if you can stand the taste it's also really beneficial for oil pulling.

Definitely watch out when using it on your face, it does clog pores so it can make you break out. I personally love mixing it with Shea Butter and applying it on my legs. I have scars on my legs and it has helped fade them but it does get greasy lol. Some people like it as a hair mask. for me personally I found I couldn't wash it out. I would have to shampoo my hair a thousand times and it still looked oily even though I barely used much oil lol. People also use it for oil pulling where you swish it around in your mouth, it makes your breath fresh and can help whiten teeth.

We use coconut oil at my office as a massage oil, and I hate this stuff! It gets all over everything, is impossible to wash off, stains all fabrics, and stinks (to me). It is comedogenic, and very greasy. I can't understand why anyone would try to lather it on skin or hair! I have the driest skin on the planet, but I'd rather deal with it than slather myself in what basically amounts to coconut-scented Crisco. 😝
