Ok, so I don't know what to do about my situation. Have been getting these flakes in my face for the past months, thought it was dry skin. My skin is oily, but since I've had this I have patches of dry skin mainly on my cheeks. It's extremely itchy and try not to scratch, but when I rub all of this comes out of my face (pic) don't know what to do anymore. Cant wear makeup because when I try to blend foundation etc.it flakes like crazy.

I have very bad dermatitis and I've never experienced flaking. I've only experienced intense itching and redness. it seems like your skin is overly dry. Have you been to the doctor about this? have you tried exfoliating? also what is your skincare routine? sorry for all the questions lol

If it's that bad, I would go to a derm.

Shauna yes the itchiness is always there, sometime need to have a rag with me so I could pat it or something to make it go away. But how is it going yo be overly dry if I have oily skin? I exfoliate once a week and still have the flakes. Have been using Murad acne kit, but every third day. When I don't use this I use a rice cleanser.

I don't know how bad it's flaking for you but when I had a skin infection it started a similar way, I was super itchy, my skin was super dry and because I couldn't stop itching and assumed I was just breaking out or something was up with my skin it took me a month to go to the doctor and have them check it out, at that point I had scabs all over my face and I couldn't wear makeup either. I got the skin infection from trying a cheap ass product someone gave me as a gift, so just incase you didn't think about that cause it does happen and it took me a pretty long time to figure out I needed to get it looked at haha. Just a heads up cause it was awful and I'd hate for anyone else to go through that tbh :) x

You can definitely still have dry skin if you're oily. If you have oily skin it's usually because your skin is lacking oil. I would suggest cleansing with a gentle cleanser for combination skin, then use a toner, apply a facial oil such as jojoba oil or josie maran argan oil. I'm curious of the ingredients list for the Murad Acne Kit that you're using. for me personally I cannot use things that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid which are found in most acne kits. these are quite harsh ingredients, lots of people can use them but some cannot. they can really dry out and irritate skin. benzoyl peroxide causes me to get extreme dermatitis on my face. definitely look at your ingredients list and maybe consider something more gentle.
