Hey everyone sorry if this title is a little misleading or offensive (really truly sorry if it is 😁) anyways I've never really loved meat (or any protein really) and decided to go vegetarian. now I'm not saying that me not eating meat has ruined my hair, but the fact that I don't eat any kind of protein whatsoever has. my hair isn't growing in as healthy as normal and it's very dry and breaks easily, even tho I'm taking very good care of it. I am trying to eat more protein now, and that isn't what I meant this to be about. how can I help restore my hair that is already grown in and gross? is there a kind of product I should use or some sort of oil? should I just wait a couple months of eating balanced meals and see if it helps my hair? thanks so much!

Coconut oil works great to restore hair also I would do some hair masks and deep conditioning, and I would drink some protein shakes

Vegetarian or not, you still need protein. You can find it in nuts like peanut butter, tofu, beans and even seeds like chia or hemp. I've been vegetarian for 8 months and luckily only experienced sleepiness from lack of protein. I make sure to take all the necessary vitamins like Iron, zinc and B12. You can also take biotin vitamins too. In your situation, I wouldn't look for a quick fix. you're body needs protein..period.
Hope this helps some!

I am a vegetarian for whole life..mine hair are strong..I don't think that only non-veg is only source of proteins.

I'm a Vegan with thick healthy hair :) contrary to popular belief- it's almost impossible to be protein deficient if you're eating the recommended caloric value for your body! Everything has protein, and it adds up:) foods such as beans, chickpeas, nuts, broccoli, leafy greens, soy products (tofu) etc.are a great source of high protein foods to balance out your diet! Go get your vitamin levels tested! It'll teach you what you ACTUALLY need to eat more of- or even less of! As for now, avoid heat and purchase a restoring mask for your current hair, ensure you're drinking enough water and that it's not dehydrated, and ensure you're trying to balance your diet as much as possible. I find when people first go meatless the only thing they care about is how much protein they get, nope! Learn about proper vegetarian nutrition and be sure to educate yourself to the best of your abilities to avoid deficiencies or over in taking a specific vitamin.

Also, Gaby, protein is synthesized by the body to be used during build and repair things internally as well as externally. If you're experiencing fatigue, up your complex carbs!

Agree with everything Brittany said :)

Literally just about to say what Brittany has, protein is not only found in meat!
You can try different masks for your hair, try getting your hair cut (if there's split ends).
