So I've had a cold sore pop up in the same place since I was 11 or 12 yo. I have low lipid levels and got an injury there. anyhow, any home remedies that help cold sores to go away quicker? I've done a salt compress and put camphor phenol on it. I don't have money for abreva. thanks ladies and gents.

It's must be really painful too
I suffer from them every winters but my dermatologist told me use salt water to wash my face and moisturize the sore to heal it as fast as possible
it will take time to get it healed about 4-5 days

I find ice really really helps. It especially helps if you catch it when it's small. When I do, and put ice on it right away, it never gets any bigger

Get your doctor to prescribe you zovirax.you take it as soon as you feel the blister coming. then take a pill every 4 hours and the blister never appears. been taking this for years and it always works if I take it as soon as I have that tingling feeling that I am going to have a blister.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I tried the ice and it did temporarily take down some swelling. I've been doing an avc with mother compress about 3 times a day. it's helping it for sure. still looks bad, but it's not as red and hasn't spread anymore.

Zovirax cream I'd amazing I had something similar by my left eye in my early 20s, mine would come on from stress and that cream got rid of it.
