Bumpy, uneven skin texture?

Hi ladies,
So I've been taking really good care of my skin lately, but I still have random clogged pores in certain areas that are making my skin texture unflattering. My forehead is very bumpy, and so is my t-zone. However, the other areas of my skin are very smooth.
My skincare routine:
Morning:
Cleanse with Cerave hydrating cleaner, tone with Thayers witch hazel alcohol free rose petal toner with aloe, Cerave eye repair cream, moisturize with Cerave moisturizing lotion, and then apply Cerave SPF 50 facial sunscreen.
Night:
Oil cleanse with Neutrogena cleansing oil, regular cleanse with Cerave hydrating cleanser, tone with Thayers again, apply eye repair cream again, Elf soothing serum, and then moisturize with Cerave moisturizing lotion again.
I exfoliate about twice a week with Cure Natural aqua gel, a chemical exfoliator.
I also drink a ton of water every day and eat generally pretty healthy.
I went to the dermatologist recently and she said it might be hormonally clogged pores, and she prescribed me a certain topical medicine, but my insurance doesn't cover it and it's very expensive.

What do you think is causing this texture problem? How can I help it?

Thank you so much in advance for all your help.

Maybe try a charcoal mask in the clogged areas.

I'd use a retinol serum in that area.
I think the one from Sally's is good, it's about $10 and you can just use it before you apply your regular moisturizer.
I had the same issue on my forehead too but since I used that it smoothed out and now I'm on the prescription retinal which works even better but I'd start using the drugstore version first to get your skin used to it

Elle, that sounds like a good idea, and Natalie, I certainly will, thank you. Aurora, that sounds like a great idea, thank you for recommending it. Do you think it's okay for someone too young to develop wrinkles yet to use a retinol product? If so, I can't wait to give this a try.

I think it is fine, I'm actually only 20 and use retinol, it basically just speeds up your skins natural regenerating cycle of something along those lines. I like to use it cause I normally get hyperpigmentation which usually last a few months but since I've been on tretinoin they only last a week or so.

Kayla, Retinol is much weaker than Retinoids. They have many similarities, but Retinol is not as intense or nearly as expensive. It is indeed effective. Even so, I actually think you'd see faster results with Glycolic Acid at 10 or 12%. It is an inexpensive powerhouse. It certainly isn't for everyone, but that would be my own suggestion.

In any event, I'd pair it either option with a moistirizer, toner and broad spectrum sunscreen. Hope that is of help!

(Olay Pro-x Nightly Purifying Peel with Salicylic is also highly effective. You just need to find which works best for your skin.) For Glycolic, The Alpha Hydrox line (Ulta) is nearly identical to what my derm gives me...and very inexpensive. There are impressive reviews on Ulta if you are interested in their products.
