Hi ladies, so I noticed and several people have pointed out that the skin on my upper lip is darker even though though I thread/pluck the hairs. do you guys know how to deal with this? I have olive/tannish skin if that helps...
thanks a lot!!

I have that exact same problem and there is nothing you can really do unless you're willing to bleach that part of your skin. You can minimize it by wearing darker lip shades, avoid nudes and pasty colors.

When it comes to makeup you'd want to use an orange color corrector.
When it come to actually trying to brighten it up, try using a vitamin C (ascorbic acid) cream or serum on that area, a cream with Kojic acid, glutathione, licorice root extract etc.
these will help brighten up the area of the skin with time

I would go see a dermatologist! I forget the term of it, but it's a fairly normal skin condition

I have it as well. In my case it's the hairs under the skin, even after being removed, the new ones are casting a shadow and the skin looks greenish there... Nothing much we can do, only laser the hair but seeing how that failed on my legs I'm not investing any cent in that anymore.

Aurora is absolutely correct. It what I use and I use an orange corrector from time to time as well (when I remember to do so). I rely heavily on skincare to keep that area in check. I also must add the use of SPF so I don't reverse the positive results. I find that if I slip up in the SPF department and I'm out and about in the sun I will come home and see some darkening which is annoying at you know what. It's very common condition. Some beauties experience hyperpigmentation on their cheeks, chin and upper lip, forehead.

I have no idea. The hair just kept on coming back exactly like before, so I gave up.

Shelly- I don't use SPF so I'm definitely going to look into that. to be honest I'm not that great in the skin care department and I guess I should start now...better late than never! I have it on my chin too and as you said VERY ANNYOING! thanks so much for the awesome advice, really appreciate it :)

Nathalie- I saw this article a few days ago and it basically said that follicles of thick coarse hair is removed permanetly and If it's that of peach fuzz, it acts as a stimulant and grows it. mabey thats why..?
