So, like an idiot I didn't do much research on How to use my clarisonic after doing a ton of research on if I should get it or not. without thinking, I assumed it would be gentle enough to use every night.. bad idea. I've been using the sensitive brush head ( going to upgrade to the gentle though) for 4 days in a row.. my skin is sensitive to exfoliating so the first time I expected a little pain while applying creams after.. 2nd day was fine.. 3rd hurt so much but I ignored it for some reason, and just tonight it hurt so much I knew it couldn't be good for me so I Googled it and turns out it's for 2-3 times a week.. so what do you suggest? every 2 days? every 3? once a week? I never concidered my skin sensitive but recently I feel like it might be.. also I have acne prone combination skin.

I use mine every night with no problems but everyone's skin is different. I would suggest using it every other day and if that's still too much for your skin to handle then use it once every two days.

You need a different brush head. I use the 'delicate' brush and it works so much better than the sensitive for me and I use it every single night. You should be able to use it daily and have no irritation, its designed to be use 1-2 times a day...

If you noticed you had a bad reaction to it I suggest once a week if later you see your skins doing fine with once a week then you should add the other day :)

Along with slowing down on the amount of usage, I would take note on the amount of pressure. Remember you don't push it into your skin, it does the work for you.

Just try the delicate brush head...it is so different...I use mine every day...once a day...twice is too much for me...

I think I'll use it once a week until I get the delicate and see how it goes then...when I use it I just glide it over not push down so I guess it's just my skin.

Also, what cleanser are you using? I use mine twice a day and haven't had any problems at all! I didn't quite like the cleanser that came with the clarisonic, so perhaps a creamier one, like Algenist's gentle rejuvenating cleanser. I really hope you give it a chance though, because the brush is actually great!!
PS: I think the mia has two speeds, make sure you are using the 'slower' one ;)

I have a Mia 2, and I've got REALLY sensitive skin. I use the delicate brush, which exfoliates nicely but doesn't irritate my skin. And I use my own cleanser-- I didn't love the one it came with! BTW I use Biore's charcoal cleanser :)

Oh, forgot this: I use the higher pressure setting, and I use it a few times a week :)
