I have a nice white dress, only worn it twice...I could pair it up with black stockings and a black sweater and thin belt...would this be appropriate or tacky? Is white appropriate in the winter?!

you can wear white if you pair it with black accessories like you are. be sure that you wear black shoes if there is snow

I don't like all the rules about "you can't wear this during this" and "you can't wear that after that" stuff. I say you should wear whatever you want, whenever you want! If you like it, you rock it. Anytime of the year.
