Hey Guys, I'm having trouble with choosing which lotion is good for my skin. I had eczema really really bad as a child, (infant - age 14) & It is in the crease , kinda under my knee if that makes sense, but anyway, now since I've gotten older, it's not as bad, I only have it in one spot on the back of my leg.
Even though my skin has cleared up over the years, I notice that it is still very sensitive. I'm looking for something that will leave my skin moisturized, smooth, good for sensitive skin, & that is a healing process over time. & I want to get rid of that one active eczema spot on the back of my leg, So what would I use to get rid of that also?? It's created a dark spot, & I want my color back there. So, I would like to know what to use to get rid of the discoloration. Thanks in advance

Ohh! I know exactly your trouble. I grew up with bad eczema to the point I would bleed and get flare ups now and then. The key is to not use lotions because they are too thin. You need to get a cream, typically the very thick ones that come in a jar. I recommend the cetaphil that's what I used and I hardly get flare ups! You can find it at Target / Walmart

As this is a skin fold, I'd advise a non-cortisone cream such as CeraVe cream. CeraVe cream will provide you with a combination of beneficial ingredients, but most importantly both gGycerin and Hyaluronic acid. This combo not only attracts moisture, but helps skin retain it; this is the key to its success. It is without fragrance and is formulated for sensitive skin..recommended by both Dermatologists and The National Eczema Association. I use it for my own skin as well as my Psoriasis. It is fantastic for your complexion as well and is inexpensive. There is a coupon on CeraVe's homepage. Any drugstore, Target, Ulta, etc. should have it. It is in a big jar, beside their hydrating washes and other various lotions.
Here is a list of moisturizers, ointments and lotions recommended by The National Eczema Association if you are looking for other options.

Since you are a lifelong sufferer, I'm assuming you are aware of triggers and how to reduce flare ups. If not, you can find helpful information here

CeraVe makes a lotion as well with the same benefits. There is an entire list of lotions at the link provided, with CeraVe Lotion being one of them.

You are quite welcome. Most drugstores and chainstores carry it. If you can't find it, Eucerin has great moisturizing lotions, including an Eczema lotion that is fantastic. Michelle's suggestion of Cetaphil is also available in a lotion that targets smoothing skin; they are all excellent. Good luck. :)
