Gold, brown, green and navy are great colors for brown eyes. Purple is very nice too. You have very big and beautiful brown eyes so lots of thing will go.
I love the look of smudged eyeliner. And omg purple mascara is amazing. Also purple cat eyes are really cool. I think you should get into smoky eyes. I'd like to see what you come up with!

All kinds of warm brown shades always work for your type of eyes. If you wanna to experiment a little more try little warm pinks, or purples, and even some blues if your feeling it. Although always remember to blend!

You're just starting out so I'd use neutral browns and build from there with colored liners until you learn your eye shape and what works best for you. wet N wild have some great pallets. You have a combination of eye shapes. Most prominent being hooded. Easiest way to learn about that? YouTube makeup for hooded eyes. post pics!
