My Makeup Comes off Easily.

Hello lovelies,

So I'm having a little trouble. My foundation will not stay on my face! Like if my nose itches and I dab it with my sleeve my makeup goes all on my sleeve. Or if I give someone a hug and my face touches their clothes they get my makeup all over them and it's really embarrassing.

I have combination skin so I know having an oily t-zone could cause this to happen, but even on the parts of my face that aren't that oily my makeup won't stay.

My skincare routine consists of taking my makeup off with Ko Gen Do spa water cloths, washing my face at night with bare minerals oil cleanser, and moisturizing with Josie Martin argan oil. In the morning I apply First Aid Beauty ultra repair and then my smash box primer.

My basic foundation routine consists of my mac foundation, then a translucent powder, and then a mineral powder on top of that.

Any tips or advice would greatly be appreciated!

Primer, matte foundation and a setting spray.

Definitely look into getting a setting spray. Urban Decay's all nighter is amazing and it allows the makeup to really cling on to your face. They also have different ones for oily skin/ combo skin. It is a bit pricey ($30). Elf also has a setting spray for $3. It's alright and it does the job. I use it on days when I'm running errands or doing mundane things. But I would reach for the UD All nighter if I were you. Hope this helped! 😊

Which foundation specifically?
I know studio fix fluid transfers quite a bit
I would use a glycerin moisturizer, glycerin is a humectant and helps attract moisture to the skin.

But you could also just try blotting after putting on your argan oil to get rid of excess oil.

I personally have yet to find a primer that helps with oil/transferring but a setting spray could help

I realize that what makes the biggest difference is the type of foundation you're using. I've used non-waterproof matte ones that wouldn't come off my face even when I splash my face with water and rub (lol!), but dewy ones tend to come off even when I dab with just a tissue.

It could also be your moisturizer.. Try getting an oil free one. Oil can cause makeup to smudge, it's happened to my friend before! She changed her moisturizer and her foundation stayed on!
