I just got it done a month ago, if you pinch your earlobe hard with your nails thats exactly what it feels like, and the pain goes away in seconds!

I would suggest going to a reputable piercer, not a shop/stall in the mall. The piercings they do in those stores can cause scar tissue and other issues (I've had this experience myself and regretted it). Professional piercers will use a needle and thread the jewelry in, not just use force to punch the jewelry into your ear. Make sure you take care of it while it heals! That is crucial to avoid infections and bad reactions. The piercing itself doesn't hurt too much, just a quick pinch like getting a shot at the doctor. Good luck!
