Hello everyone, as of now I'm really focusing on trying to whiten my teeth. Obviously there is the baking soda and toothpaste way, which I may try tonight before bed. Does anyone have any other at home remedies that are safe? I'm not looking to get any procedures from a dentist mostly because I have heard so many bad experiences and it's not so important to me that I would do that.

I think it's much safer to do the procedure with a dentist, that a DIY method. They are qualified people that really knows what they are doing, besides, bad reviews always run faster than good ones.

Colgate optic white tooth paste :) don't use baking soda on your teeth, especially with lemon like I've seen people do it'll just make your enamel on your teeth recede

Take the inside of a banana peel and rub it on your teeth then use a dry tooth brush to scrub off the stuff if you do it every night you will probably see results in a week or so. It is all natural and it works (even tho it might be a little slower)

I mix baking soda with either lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide and it works in like 5 minutes!! The only thing is that you need to be very careful and avoid doing it often because it can damage your enamel. I agree with the others that a tooth paste or strips would be safer, but I'm cheap...

I've had my teeth whitened by my father (he's a dentist), and the only issue was during when I experienced 'zings'. Due to my natural enamel, my teeth don't hold on to bleach. You can always look up reviews on dentists. If you wanna try out the whitening strips, it's your call. My dad said they only really work if your teeth are 100% straight.
Whatever you do, do NOT put lemon juice or any acids on your teeth. They corrode your teeth.

I do agree with Lara. There are many bad reviews regarding DIY method also, you can't just judge based on some reviews. There are many successful reviews for professional teeth whitening. I had undergone teeth whitening procedure from City Oasis Dental in Toronto ( http://cityoasis.dental/dental-services/tooth-whitening ) and the result is quite good. I think it depends on the dentist you select. You have to consult a dentist who is specialized in teeth whitening procedure also talk with their previous patients. Get information from them and then make your final decision. You have to consult at least 3 experienced dentists in your locality.
I have heard continuous use baking soda will have a negative impact on teeth enamel. Since you are looking for DIY method go for activated charcoal. My younger sister is using it to maintain the whiteness of her teeth. Here is link which shows how to use it http://wellnessmama.com/3662/whiten-teeth-naturally/
