Goodmorning..I had a thyroeidectomy because of cancer...so no hormones and such...so my skin from super oily on the T zone and slightly dry on the cheeks went to dry on the T zone and I have two huge dry patches on the cheeks. I am 38 years old. So I would like to know if you can suggest a cream...a boost of hydration especially for the cheeks and not onlythat will last. I apply my glamglow mask and a heavier cream from estee but it is not enough. I am not in the usa so I do not have access to all brands...budgetwise medium I think...it depends...thank you in advance.

I love Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst moisurizer, but they do make one more moisterizing than that one. There are 3 creams in the moisture surge line. Mine is the middle one. But when my skin get extremely dry where it's patchy or if I've stripped it from too much retinols or peels. I'll use my Egyptian Magic Cream which is actually a greasy balm. If you don't have access to those, I would just apply a thin layer of Vaseline over your moisterizer on the patchy areas only to keep the moisture in and prevent product and moisture evaporation.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. When you have surgery, it's common to get dehydrated from the anesthesia. I assume that you will be taking synthetic hormones (my grandma had her thyroid removed and was put on Synthroid). Until your hormones even out, drink lots of water. I'm not sure what brands you have access to in the UK. But you need a non foaming cleanser, preferably an oil based cleanser. A treatment salve for the dry spots like Homeoplasmine or Yu Be ointment. And oil treatment on completely dry skin (water prevents the oil from penetrating). Then lock it in with a cream. I love First Aid Beauty cream. Best wishes in your recovery.

Get a sample of the Extended Thirst (2nd one ) and Intense, which is the one for the driest of skins. Normally I would go for the MOST MOISTERIZING, buy I prefer the texture, scent and absorbibility

Of the EXTENDED THIRST. You'll notice the difference right away if you get both samples.

Popping in to wish you a speedy recovery! I had abdominal surgery 11 months ago and my skin and body are still recovering. Take care of yourself and you'll find the right combination.
