So I already own Velvet Teddy but am not really liking the matte finish of it so is there any other lipsticks out there that are of very similar colour as I absolutely love the colour but don't have the matte finish.

This isn't the exact same color, but it's very sheer and you can put it on top of velvet teddy. I have a bunch of these and I use them just to put on top of matte lipsticks. I find they don't have enough pigmentation to be a full on lipstick so I love them over top. You could also just use a clear gloss or balm.

Wet N Wild Bare It All 902C is a dupe with a semi-matte finish. With either, you can use a clear gloss mid-lip to amp up shine and moisture.

... You could just get a lip balm tube and put it on top or a clear gloss and it'll get rid of the matte look and texture.
Especially is you out a good amount on before you put it on.
Matte lipsticks are quite versatile in that way.
You could even just mix it with lip balm and apply it.
Many ways to go about it.

Mattes are very versatile which is why I prefer them.
