Becca highlighters - are they worth it?

I never really bought into the hype of expensive highlighters but now that I see everyone has one I really want them! I've always just used the highlighters from my Carli Bybel palette to highlight my face.

For anyone who has them: how are they? And I can't decide which shade would work for me either lol. I'm pretty fair, NC15 so if that helps...😬

I have a cream version of moonstone, its nice, but nothing spectacular. I don't like their powder version that much, I think they are very glittery and I just don't go for that type of look. I played around with the rose gold one for a bit before I passed it on, if used lightly it made a nice blush topper.

I'm not big on the highlighting trend but the ones I have that I honestly like is the French vanilla from Laura geller, the 2 highlighters in the UDxGwen face palette and my dim light from hourglass which technically isn't a highlighter!

I was looking into Laura geller! But gilded honey lol. Thank you for the help Sabrina :)

That is a beautiful one, I think it was livi who recently made a thread about the different swirled highlighters from Laura geller! Maybe you can find that thread and get some inspiration!

I use moonstone pressed (I'm a touch paler than NC15 in the winter and about that in the summer). I love it! You can go light or heavy. I tend to go light handed and feel it gives a really nice natural highlight.

I'll check it out Sabrina :)

Thanks Rebecca! I checked out moonstone, it's really pretty! However I feel like frosty highlights are more winter like for my skin tone and gold like highlights are more summery on my skin:)

Dana I actually think moonstone would be a perfect match for your skin, its not as white as it might look. You could also go for opal which is more of a champagne :)

I don't find moonstone frosty at all. It's got quite a golden undertone in my opinion. I agree with Sabrina though, Opal could also work but I thought it was slightly too deep for my skintone.

Or actually Champagne Pop could work. I don't own it myself but when I swatched in store (I had to see what all the fuss is about) it seems to sit quite nicely between moonstone and opal depth wise.

Here is a swatch of moonstone on my pale skin for reference.

Here is a swatch of Highlight 01 by Laura Mercier. It gives me such a beautiful natural glow, unlike Moonstone which is very yellow in an unpleasant way.

Wow I didn't realize! Moonstone seemed a lot more frosty on my fingers when I swatched. Lolol I wanted to check out champagne pop too, everyone I know owns it I have to see what's it's all about🙈

Thanks everyone!!

I have two Becca pressed highlighters I have Opal and Champagne Pop. I broke my opal one when I dropped it :/ I tried fixing it but it's still crumbly soo I reach more for my Champagne Pop. I love both of them they are my favs! I use them almost everyday. I highlight the tops of my cheeks, inner corner of my eyes, bridge of my nose, basically anything! Lol I love that highlight look. But they are beautiful highlights! I know ulta and Sephora have this travel pack of the Opal shade it's the pressed highlight and the liquid one if you're interested in testing that shade out. :)

Any swatched of Opal or Champagne Pop let me know :)

I have champagne pop and I reach for it when I do more bronzed glowy looks! I feel like it compliments a bronzed look well!

I'm not a big highlighter lover like some ladies on here! Marlene definitely has a nice collection as well if you'd want to see more options.

Ugh champagne pop is so beautiful! Idk if it would be too dark for me :(

I thought about trying the travel version of opal! Every time I go to the mall Sephora and ulta are always out of it so I never got around to getting it, lol

I love my champagne pop. I use it to highlight every time I do my full face makeup!

I have champagne pop and I love mine. The highlight just melts into my skin and looks so natural. I love that I can build it up or keep it natural.

Sabrina, I have also started leaning towards a more subdued highlight. I have all the usual ones, Becca, Josie Maran, Hourglass and more. But, I find myself reaching for my Mally GORGOIS GLOW & my H2GLO CHAMPAGNE highlighters. Both are gel/balm type of highlighters than have no texture (because they're not powders), and have the most finest milled shimmer than anything else I've found. But they're not too wet, so they don't breakdown my foundation.

I have the powder and cream from becca in moonstone. I never really use the cream because I could never figure out the way to apply it correctly, lol. But I absolutely LOVEE the powder. It gives me that glow thats "on fleek" 😂 I use it everyday. I tried other highlighters, including the new tarte highlight pallet (well now there's a new single highlighter) and after using them like twice I always go back to Becca. Lol. Cant compare

I'm a nc15 as well, I have moonstone and opal. I had moonstone for about 3 months and then decided it was just too light for spring/summer while I want to be tanning and gaining some colour outside so I bought the opal travel size set with the liquid highlighter as well. And I love it! The colour is perfect!! Defiantly recommend you can wear with just a tinted moisturizer on casual days ( I use Laurier mercier) or even with full face make up and it looks just as good!
