I normally apply a bit of toothpaste to break the pimple, it really helps!

DO NOT USE TOOTHPASTE. It's not formulated for the skin and can cause damage. I have actual scarring for stupidly trying to use toothpaste. Cleanse your skin as normal and apply a proper spot treatment.

Toothpaste has personally worked wonders for me in this kind of situations. a lot of models and YouTubers suggested this method so I thought it would be harmless. sorry if its not the right way to treat pimples!

So I should cleanse the skin and apply a spot treatment? Wouldn't a spot treatment be too harsh?

Why don't you try placing ice on the pimple for a while?

What I have ended up doing is washed my face then lightly steamed it, after it cooled down I applied a spot treatment. Later I will ice and will reevaluate.

Since its come to a head, get a hot washcloth (as hot as you can handle) and apply light pressure. That might help it run its course sooner.
