Hi guys so right where my bikini stops there are bumps and really really dark marks!! Even when I don't shave and wait for a wax! Why does my hair grow so far down?? Also how can I prevent ingrown hairs there? They will not stay away. I'm humiliated because it's summer!!

Please help me clear away whatever this is! I don't want to wear shorts for swimming and tanning!

Have you tried using bikini zone (can get it at cvs or Walmart) it helps with reducing bumps and redness and makes the skin smooth. You apply it after you shave simulated to an after shave cream. Also if you wax, you can be allergic to the wax if you get a lot of bumps from it (or at least that is what I've heard).

Also please don't feel so bad, a lot of us deal with this problem :) maybe use aloe Vera after you wax (if you do) or in general, to help soothe it.

That happens to me all the time. I call it chub rub.
For me it's just irritation from sweat and constant friction. Applying powder or something to absorb excess, moisture should help

So if you get it from the wax-- you could be doing too much right after the wax or the oil after the wax. You should be airing it out and wearing light clothes afterwards. No sex, swimming, exfoliating, etc.for a good 24-48hrs afterwards. I find that after a wax I go home and go commando and chill. If I don't and run around, I get ingrown or irritations.

A good daily solution for the area is good too. Try like whish it keeps the area clean and away of ingrowns. Tendskin was too harsh for me.

Some after wax oils are too much for my skin so just a good wet nap is good too. Aloe Vera is good

That is razor burn bumps from shaving and then ingrown hairs irritate the skin and make it red - exfoliation helps also if you shave then you should shave every day or as often as possible - in order to prevent irritation and ingrown hairs - be sure to exfoliate before you shave and moisturize the area well afterwards - that will help reduce it but may not fully get rid of it - I still get ingrown hairs but I've just learned to live with them - I don't understand our society's obsession with a hairless crotch - that just seems prepubescent and disgusting to me - hair is natural and studies have shown it protects us from certain STDs - but anyways the point I'm trying to make is that if you keep shaving or waxing then you are bound to have this happen - because it's not natural to do that to that area - our hair wants to grow and we really should let it - and that's the only real way to get rid of razor burn forever - otherwise you just have to learn to live with it.

The ladies gave good advice, you should also exfoliate 24 hours after waxing, apply aloe vera 3 days after waxing.

I've found that if you exfoliate everyday it helps with the ingrown hair and I've been applying aloe Vera after shaving. I'm not sure if the aloe if helping but I think it is.
