What cream are you already using? If it was me I would use cortisone... It's meant for rashes.

I think you can apply products to help relieve the pain and not further aggravate the area, but I think only time will heal it. If the gel you're using isn't working well, you could try putting baby powder on it to help relieve any further chafing and maybe take some Advil as directed to help reduce the pain. Since it is also an anti-inflammatory, it will help reduce the redness and inflammation as well.
