So I usually have pretty oily skin especially on my t-zone, but lately I have noticed a lot of dry patches on my face. I didn't change anything in my skincare routine. The only thing I can think of is I was on vacation this past week and was in the pool and exposed to sun all day. I was wondering if anyone knows the reason this is happening and how to get rid of the dry patches. Thanks!

It's probably sun damage from being on vacation. Just try any moisturizer and you can also exfoliate your skin. I personally like doing a hydrating mask such as Laneige water mask. you can also try putting argan oil or jojoba oil on the area.

Thanks! Do you think maracuja oil would work too?

Hi Megan! I too have experienced this oily to dry transition and was so confused on what was going on with my skin. I had never had a dry patch in my life and then all of a sudden my who nose was just a dry flaky mess. So I asked many people and its completely natural and ok. Your skin type can fluctuate between seasons and your sun exposure can also be a factor. Now I use coconut oil as a moisturizer and it completely eliminates all my dry skin. I just rub coconut oil in to the dry areas and re apply as needed. It works like a charm.

Hello! This is pretty common, so don't panic! To keep your skin moisterized, try using sunscreen before makeup and a tinted moisturizer or BB cream to keep it hydrated. Rubbing Aloe Vera gel on those spots can also help!
