So my sister has dark eyelids and dark corners of her eye. It is difficult when I practice doing makeup on her because it just makes the whole look dark. Does anyone have any ideas that could possibly work?

A color correcting primer may help. Kat Von D has one. Also, you can set the primer with a white shadow or base (like NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk), which can help brighten the shadow.
