So I usually just buy regular loose translucent powder from the drugstore thinking that there's no difference in transluscrnt loose powders. The one I'm using is from cover girl and after I apply it it makes me look like a wrinkly old grandmother with dry/cracked skin and I look suuuuuper pale too. Then I read about the Ben Nye Banana powder on Pinterest and I was wondering, is it that good compared to drugstore loose powders?

If you have light skin, it may be too yellow or dark on you. Although, some light skinned beauties do say it works for them. Back in the 90s, I bought one of the first yellow powders by T. Le Clerq. in the shade BANANE (it's a French product) It is a paler yellow than Ben Nye. But it is more expensive than Ben Nye. But I do know that Bobbi Brown also sells a pale yellow. I'm guessing you want a powder that not only SETS your concealer but also brightens. So a pale yellow is a good choice imo for pale skin, esp. if you also want to bake with it, because it would be right in the middle of a translucent powder (white) and Ben Nyes rich yellow powder. Not trying to push you into anything, just want to give you more choices so you can make an informed decision.

Ben nye loose powders are amazing!! In my esthetician class we use them all the time in makeup! It gives the most beautiful finish to the skin! It sets but gives off a glowy matte look. It's really beautiful. And the banana shade is good but I would recommend it for just under eyes because it does give off I yellowy look.

I honestly recommend using the Laura Mercier translucent powder bc it doesn't crease, it doesn't look cakey, and you only need a little bit. You can also bake with it, and it's a really great all around setting/baking/buffing powder.
