I always attempt to achieve a dewy look but always end up feeling like it just does not look right and end up applying a powder. Any suggestions?

I use MAC Strobe Cream under my foundation to give a "lit from within" kind of look and it'll intensify anywhere I put my highlighter then spray Fix+ or a setting spray (:

Illuminating balm like boots N7 or Mac strobe cream. I like to use Indie Lee Squalane oil pressed on then go over it with Estee lauder Resilience lift creme it has radiance reflects.I go over that with Mac strobe or Boots N7 depending on skin for the day. When achieving this glow look I have a few choices of product's that give the finish result but I personally like it cosmetics CC cream or Mac nourishing foundation when I want the look. I top it off with a cream stick blush like Nars multiple in Vientiane and light lift of Kevyn Aucoin celestial powder candlelight and hourglass Radiant light powder. You can choose to use mac fix spray but it won't be a must once you get all related glow illuminating radiance finish product's together. :)
I have a few more luminous powders that are of great help as well but don't want to overwhelm you with all that lol.You can achieve that finish, so many product's out there for you to explore. :)

I've been obsessed with dewy looks this year.. I always start out mixing a drop of beauty oil into my foundation (a dewy finish foundation) then tap a liquid illumunator on all of the high points of the face, set the illumunator with a powder highlight then LIGHTLY go over the low points of the face with a satin setting powder just so the foundation lasts longer and doesn't transfer. Lastly I use a dewy setting mist (Tatcha has an AMAZING but pricey one) but any dewy setting mist will do (:
