As far as MAC is concerned I'd go with the Studio Sculpt foundation or Full Coverage cream foundation.
both give good coverage, the full coverage giving the most. I prefer the full coverage because despite the full coverage it's not super heavy looking and doesn't feel as tacky as studio sculpt. The only downside with the Full Coverage is that it can give some flashback with direct flash and there aren't as many shades

Auroral, do you use primer with Studio Sculpt? If I use plenty of moisturizer, would I need primer? What do you apply it with (brush, fingers, etc.)? I have it and it matches my skin tone so well, but hasn't been looking so great lately when I've tried it. I have aging skin on the dry side, but I well moisturizer night and day.

Chris, I find this works good with just a moisturizer underneath, personally.
I don't think a primer is absolutely necessary in fact with dry skin a good moisturizer should be more than enough.
as for this foundation it's quite gel like and kind of thick, I prefer using it with a buffing brush and going in clockwise and counterclockwise type of buffing to really work the product in.
if you have peeling skin then this method isn't the best and in which case I prefer using a flat top kabuki and stippling it on or just using a regular flat for foundation brush and going in downward strokes

Thank you Aurora! Very helpful. I don't tend to peel, so a buffing brush sounds perfect! Thank you again!
