I am looking for a part time job to help build my makeup skills. I would like to work at a store, but which one is best? For those of you that work or have worked for either of these places, what is your experience?

I haven't worked at any of them, but I think Ulta has the most variety of brands and supplies, but I have heard People on here have gotten jobs at Sephora and that they love it and it suits then best. Honestly, just choose the one your leaning on, but I say Ulta and Sephora are your best bet :)

I would try sephora or ulta. I would also consider trying to get a position at a Makeup counter in a higher store. For instance working at Clinique at a Dillard's. I would think Mac wants you to be a professional.

I would go with Mac if you're wanting to work at a place that will help you build your skills. They're more into teaching and building up their employees, a lot of makeup artists started at Mac. Sephora and Ulta will be more like regular retail jobs.
