So both of my daytime moisturizers that I have contain SPF 30 so I don't apply sunscreen in the morning.
Is the SPF that's in my moisturizer enough for everyday or should I be applying a separate sunscreen with a different SPF? If so what SPF should I be using and when should I apply it in my skincare routine?

Is what I'm using (30-50 SPF) true broad spectrum protection (sunscreen or sunblock?) and how generous and even with my coverage am I when applying to my face and neck? Am I reapplying as needed? Can I reapply protection diligenty with my current products in my routine? Am I using these products on all exposed areas of my body daily? Am I able to touch *those* areas up as needed?
These are what I'd examine in any sun protection regimen.
The link below is a great article on sun protection and breaking it down, the various types, ingredients, usage, etc.

Hope that helps you out!

It may be enough for a few hours wear, but if you spend a lot of time outdoors, or are outdoors several hours after application, you may want to reapply. Which is annoying when you're wearing makeup! I use an spf "setting spray." I don't think it really "sets" anything, but it doesn't ruin my makeup either. I'm currently using the one by supergoop you can get it at sephora, but there are others too.

Thank you, Kailey! I don't really spend a lot of time outside but my desk (which is where I spend most of my time, lol) is right in front of a window.

I only use mineral sunblock moisturizer of spf30, but I do have a powder on hand for touch ups that has spf20. That might be something you can do if you think you need more SPF throughout the day.

If the product contains a physical sunscreen like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide then it will last quite awhile and doesn't have to really be reapplied unless you're sweating or swimming. It tends to be more effective since they just work by reflecting the Suns rays.
If the product uses chemical sunscreen then it does have to be reapplied. Chemical sunscreens don't sit on top of the skin, they're absorbed and will absorb the Suns rays and it converts it into heat I believe.
"Imagine each chemical sunscreen molecule gets zapped and disappears the second it gets hit by a photon and converts to heat. Rather than wearing off, it is actually used up like gasoline used by a car or food consumed by your body, that's why it must be reapplied. The more sun you are getting the faster sunscreen is used up or breaks down"
I have heard that, the higher the SPF, the longer you can go without reapplying but people give conflicting answers to that.
There are powder foundations that actually have sunscreen in them like the Shiseido UV Protective Compact Foundation SPF 36, Asians take sunscreen very seriously due to lighter skin being the beauty standard.
If you're in Asia, happen to travel there or know someone there. MAC has a powder foundation only sold in Asian countries called the Lightful Powder foundation which has SPF20 I believe

I think quite a few other Asian cosmetics have powders with SPF in them as well so I would check out websites that sell Japanese and Korean cosmetics

I think those who have to work at outdoor for many hours should use such a cream which moisturizes the skin and as well as used as a sunscreen too. Many times we choose a sunscreen but forget about the moisturizer. There is a product Dermaxsol, it is a daily moisturizing sunscreen cream with SPF-30. You can try this product.
