Aurora - Thanks for the swatches :)
Jacqueline - Thanks for the additional info, very informative. I wear the SSE in SX11. If I don't colour correct on my chin + around mouth, it looks ashy. With colour correction, it leaves a lovely finish.
I'm Indian, with a medium-deep skin shade plus yellow undertone. The depth of my skin's "brown-ness" is probably right in the middle; I'm neither pale nor deep/dark.
Yes, the SSE is divine in terms of coverage but besides my SX11 being just a tad too yellow sometimes, I also wanted a lighter feel foundation. Hence my experimentation this year and discovering via Beautylish, Natasha Denona's foundations and the KA Sensual Skin Fluid in SF08.
By going less "full coverage", my hyperpigmentation does peek through my new foundations despite concealing, but it doesn't bother me :) I'm happy with the overall "blurring" of my imperfections. Just got the unavoidable natural skin oiliness but switching primers has helped a lot.
The winter family wedding will be a reunion - haven't seen the large extended family since I was a kid and I KNOW that I will be scrutinized by every cousin and aunt! 😄 Plus, there will be tons of photos. So, playing around with some additional foundation choices well in advance before the trip will help.
Aurora and yourself have pointed me towards the right direction wrt how to choose between the RCMA shades. I'll most likely place an order soon for a couple of samples.
Thanks :)

@Jacqueline, I only purchased a few samples. SH-1, SH-2, SH-3, KO-3, KO-4 and KO-5.
I found that the SH-2 was close but was a tad off. Didn't have enough yellow and no green. When I wore it, my family actually thought it made me look a bit pink compared to my neck and chest.

I hear you on the Shinto shades and the green. Unfortunately, in that series the green isn't really apparent until the shades deepen down the series.
Have you ever tried Joe Blasco's Ultrabase in the Warm Olive range? It's a fantastic foundation, and I'm pretty sure you can buy samples on Camera Ready. In my opinion, Joe Blasco makes the best and most extensive ranges for Olive skin across the board.

I love that palette Sandra, it's well worth the $$. It has SH 0, which is a shade that does not exist anywhere else except in that palette. I believe KJB will be releasing the SH 0 soon, but for now... it's only available in his palette. If you want to see swatches of it, let me know. ;)

If you are comfortable with color and know how to mix, you can pretty much match any skin depth and undertone with this palette. :)
