Recently I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos, mainly about makeup tutorials. It seems like everyone is doing a winged eyeliner and it looks fabtastic. However, I tried and inevitably failed numerous times this morning. Any tips on perfecting the winged eyeliner look? Also what about smudging eyeshadow under your lower lashes? I'm a bit afraid to do that thinking I'll come out looking like a raccoon!

When it comes to winged liner practice makes perfect! I don't recommend using tape to get a clean line, the tape pulls at the skin and can cause wrinkles around the delicate eye area even if you "take some of the stickiness off on the back of your hand" but that's just my opinion. You can also clean up any mistakes with concealer on a small concealer or angled brush.

For shadow on the lower lash line I suggest applying a little at a time close to your lashes and blending out and building and blending further down until you get it as intense and far down as you like.

It's a bit hard to see your makeup, do you have a different picture?

Wow I think your makeup looks really nice especially your eyeshadow with that lip color but in regards to winged liner all you have to do is as a lengthier wing to the corner of your eye that points ups to the end of your eyebrow.

This is what I do:

I pull my eyelids taut, making sure my elbows are resting on my desk. I take a angled brush and a gel liner (gel is easiest to work with in my opinion) and pray to the God of eye makeup that I'll get a good wing today.

You're liner in the last photo looks really nice. I can't tell in the other photos. I'm assuming it's all from the same day. Liner is really hard for me. Keep practicing and appreciate that you are patient enough to do so haha.
