Setting powder for dry skin.

Now that it's summer, I need to start setting my makeup with a powder to help prevent separation and total meltdown lol. This is something I dread as when I use any powder on my t zone it sticks to tiny dry flakes that weren't even there well visible at least before. The result is horrific. Looks like my skin is falling off...bc it is:( I've tried so many and I'm at my wits end. Another factor is my budget bc I've already spent so much on "summer makeup" I'd like to keep it under $20. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Maybe try baking? Get a loose translucent powder which would be relatively inexpensive and then try a setting spray on top to stop it looking too powdery/cakey? You could get a travel sized setting spray to help your budget? 😊

Honestly our temperature here is above 40?C and I set mine with baby powder and it works awesomely especially when doing baking.

I've read that individuals that gave dry skin don't get great results from baking. Baking pulls moisture and oil from the skin and any products that you have on. I did look up the best powders for dry skin. Hope this helps

I had mostly stopped using powder as it always made my nose look really flaky, but I've started using the rcma no colour powder recently and I really love it, I haven't had that issue at all. It still gives a sort of matte finish but not as matte as I was used to from other powders, it's more of a "satin " finish if that makes sense and leaves even my nose looking smooth. :)

The no color powder works quite well on those on the drier side.

I agree with kim in fact that info has been mentioned many times on BL. I know Jackie has mentioned that Mac careblend powder was awesome on dry skin so I hope she can also come here and help as well. :)

I personally on myself won't use powder if I have a dry area not even RCMA if I'm dealing with Real dry skin, that's just me, dry skin and powder don't play well .RMS Un powder is nice too, again these are things to try and decide what works best for your skin.I'll be looking into that Mac careblend since Jackie speaks highly of it. :)
Great list kim that was kind of you to find a list. :)

Another option outside of powder is Mally's Face Defender, but it's more than $20.

Honestly I've been loving the Charlotte tilbury airbrush flawless finish setting powder.. I have dry skin and this powder works great.. It's so finely milled so my face never looks like it has powder on it.. And it doesn't take much of the powder in order to set the makeup in place.. The only con is the price of the powder.. It is $45 but well worth it.. I am NC25 in MAC and the medium powder is a bit too dark for me.. It will work great now that summer is around the corner but I plan to order the shade "light" for my winter months

Thanks so much ladies! So many things to look into! I don't use a powder in winter but I find in summer I really need it which is strange since my skin is still dry most everywhere. Kim that list will definitely get me started on the right track. I have a few to start checking reviews on now! So appreciated!!

I actually have the bare minerals one maybe I'll give that a shot first! Hadn't thought to use it as a regular powder since it never met my expectations as a foundation:)

I LOVE the RCMA powder, I used it for year but then people caught on and I couldn't get more when I ran out so now I use mineral veil (hydrating) and it works great.

Jacqueline recommended the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder to me as well as the Koh Gen Do Face Powder. I've been using the KGD one more recently and I'm loving it! I will try the BT one as well. I trust Jacqueline! I have dry aging skin and I have lines to contend with as well as dryness.
