I plan to stop at my local Ulta store and I'm hoping to get some eyeshadows - is there a brand that Ulta carries that Sephora, CVS & Walgreens doesn't? Is it even worth getting these ULTA only brands?

I highly suggest the Lorac Pro Palettes. There's equal amounts of matte and shimmer and all the shades are super pigmented and blend so smoothly and easily. Lorac is only carried at Ulta and it's completely worth the trip.

I don't like Ulta's eye shadow palettes, they are chalky, even with eye shadow primer they don't last

I mean Ulta has a bunch of stuff you could just get at Walgreens but thats only drugstore stuff. Ulta also has a bunch of high end makeup, they have a huge selection of brands and products, and if you have an Ulta rewards card it is DEFINETLY worth it. Ulta also has a lot of nice skincare brands like Mario Badescu ans Walgreens wouldnt have that. Think of Ulta like a Sephora and a Walgreens in one place...

I love lorac products and if you just wear drug store makeup I would get it at Ulta because of the rewards program you start getting money off of your purchases after you sworn a certain amount and they always have buy one get one 50% off and buy 2 get 1 free deals.

I get 90% of my makeup from Sephora or nordstrom - since it moved. Sephora is to far to just swing by, Ulta is pretty much 5 minutes away.
I'll pick up a Lorca palette ❤️ and I'll try the makeup revolution palette as well. Hopefully they'll have somethings to similar to the stuff I have already.

I agree with Kim. Make up Revolution is at Ulta. They have some nice goodies that are very affordable. You can hit up youtube for demos, swatches and reviews.

*disclaimer* I work at Ulta, but this is 100% my opinion as a consumer, not a sales person lol. Ulta has a much better rewards program than Sephora. The money you spend on products and services at Ulta (hair, nails, brows, skin) turns into money off of products. The more points you have, the more they're worth. I've redeemed my points for $125 worth of free product three times now. So I always choose to buy things from Ulta over Sephora or Target. A few other prestige brands that Ulta has that Sephora does not are It Cosmetics, Pur, Laura Geller, and Fiona Stiles. Sephora definitely has the upper hand in luxury products, but Ulta still has a lot of great mid range high end brands. I highly recommend Laura Geller highlighters, Lorac products as mentioned above (their highlighters are quite nice too. Similar to Urban Decay's new ones), and It Cosmetics CC cream.

I second the it cosmetics cc cream! I'm a Sephora girl or a drugstore girl but it bugs me that they don't carry it cosmetics. Maybe I should buy more stuff at ulta!

I like that ulta has drug store, high end makeup brands, and hair products. The only thing I don't like about ulta it's that the points expire, and if you are a platinum member you need to keep buying stuff to keep your platinum status. And now you can't use the coupon if you are buying the "buy one get the 2nd 50% off" promotion.

Just now trying the drugstore products. For some reason I can't just make myself buy a drugstore foundation. Am fine with pick up mascara or lip liner... Anyway thanks for everyone's suggestions.

Its definetly better to invest in a high end foundation :)
