Gradually going in an angle instead of doing a straight line then a flick?

You can watch her create a wing here at 07:54

Her eyes are closed which I'm sure gives it that straight look, I wouldn't imagine it being so straight open.
She applies her eyeliner with her eyes open from what I've seen, and thick as well too.

Thank you!! I'm going to try it tomorrow, let's hope I don't end up looking like a raccoon lol.

Yup it's more straight with your eye open, you could even try using a card like a credit card as a stencil to prevent it from getting curved at the wing

You can do the following:
use the tape method where you take a piece of tape and angle it against your lower lash line and meet it to the end of your eyebrow
use a pointed q tip and some makeup remover on it to sharpen the line by gliding it underneath the wing slowly.

I draw my wing and then trace to the inner corner make sure you go all the way in and that the line isnt at all jagged. A lot of people bring the wing in halfway and leave it like that which gives a more curves look. It annoys me so much.

Why don't you like slanted wings? I thought that was the whole point of winged eyeliner. As for that it just looks like they drew a line straight out instead of slanted.
