I'm with Paula on that I don't count lemon as an AHA. It contains citric acid, but it is not isolated from other components which is why I don't see citric acid on the label. This just feels like a technical cheat to me and I've always liked the company, but they are very misleading here. They omit any pH information which I also find odd. I appreciate your responding Diana!

Yeah I mean citric acid is a big structure with more than just an AHA to it so I agree with you that's pretty much cheating on providing a real AHA.

Well Rozberry I actually notice that the Mario Badescu lotion do wonders to smooth out my skin and clear the acne I had. When I stopped using it I felt like my skin wasnt as good. I'm just curious what ingredient it was that my skin probably liked? Could the citric acid have helped?

Thank you, Diana. I agree completely l. I'm really kind of disappointed in them over this. I really trust Paula...I mean..some of her products have changed my entire skin health and in turn, my life.
Ariana, I think what's going on is that because as Diana pointed out, Lemons have citric acid in them, that they are implying it's somehow the same as an AHA. Sometimes we fall into this "It's natural so it must be good" logic. My sister always jokes, "So is Arsenic; want some?"..lol I saw Ms. Kitty say the same regarding poison ivy..lol. Even if said, okay.. lemon juice has citric acid. There's no way I would put lemon juice on my face. The pH of products is so crucial to what's effective and good for skin that I just can't acknowledge including lemon as a healthy citric acid. It doesn't say citric acid, in my view, on the label for a reason. I think this product is a poor choice, but I know you love it and I'd never infringe on what makes you feel good. It has some really nice, beneficial skin ingredients, but they spoiled it with ingredients I found counteractive to those great ingredients. Kind of like my It CC Cream. I was so bummed, but I said goodbye. :(
So I would suggest you switch to the less expensive Alpha Hydrox that is gentle and scent free without causing skin to become irritated beneath the surface. This lemon business seems like trickery to me; It's like how tomatoes and ketchup aren't the same, but you can technically say it's tomato..lol
Maybe if you hit up Kitty on her profile, she could offer more insight. I just know that I don't feel comfortable recommending it, but that's just me. I'm glad you enjoy it, but I do hope you run it by Kitty just for her educated opinion. Hope that helps!

Susana, I believe that Boots has been bought by Walgreens so you might be able to see if they have the product that you need.

Ah Rozberry youre so right though. I'm totally against putting lemon juice on skin but I thought citric acid was like a gentler form of citrus so I thought it was okay. I honestly don't pay to the ingredients list in great detail. I'm picky, but I'm not that picky. If something works for me and I don't see negative results I don't feel the need for an intervention but now that I know about the harms of it I just won't be repurchasing it...I'm using the Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing moisturizer atm, is that harmful at all?

Citric acid is often used with great success; it's just not isolated in that formula and without knowing even the pH it is just not my preference or a true AHA in my view. I've never used the Tomatoes line. Hopefully someone will see your question and share feedback. I hope so!

(The ingredient lemon extrract) I mean; Citric Acid is a true AHA. Glycolic and Lactic are gentle. You might want to look into those.
