The only way to get better is to practice. You can look up some youtube videos for guidance on a particular look (winged liner, contouring etc) then practice.

I find what helps a lot with getting better at makeup is just going to any beauty counter and get a free makeup lesson. I had great ones at bobbi brown and clinique and they show you what they do in a mirror plus explain it, it's really good and helpful.

Here's a tip I give to a lot of my friends and family who are first starting out with makeup never use a concealer of foundation as a base for eyeshadow it WILL make your eyeshadow crease.
