My skin hates me again...

Hey guys! Hope all is well with you all.
So for the last year and a half I've been using Mary Kay Timewise face wash and moisturizer for skin. I know I'm only 22 but it seriously cleared up my breakouts, and I was having cystic acne.
Lately, I've been breaking out like crazy again. Little tiny barely noticeable bumps on my forehead but the bigger painful ones on my chin and sometimes my neck. I don't know what happened or if it's stress or something causing it, because I've have to lot of things coming up.
Anyway, do you guys think I should try a new skincare regimen? I don't even know where to begin, I absolutely hate the process of trying a million different products and hoping they work only to be disappointed once again. I just want to find that perfect skincare routine!
Honestly, I would really love products on the cheaper side, because I'm saving up for a trip this summer BUT if it works it works and I'm willing to spend a little extra to feel comfortable in my own skin.
Sorry for the drawn out post and thanks to y'all in advance!

Have you consulted a derm?

Pimples on your chin are mostly due to your diet and hormones. If you drink soda stay away from it for a while. Drink plenty of water and wash your face when you come home and in the morning

@Rozberry, no I've never been to a dermatologist. There isn't really one close to me. Small town struggle.
@Sarah I don't feel like it's my diet because I only drink water and try to eat fairly healthy. But thank you!

Then it could as be caused by stress and hormones. I suggest trying to do something that makes you happy, like for example I meditate.

Your best course of action is to see an Esthetician then for a facial. This preps skin to better absorb your skin products. BHA exfoliating is great for tackling cystic acne. Paula's Choice has a wonderful BHA. I'd use Cetaphil or CeraVe cleanser and an aloe based toner as well.

Here's a link to Paula's Choice website where you can read reviews on the BHA. Also, it provides a detailed ex2
of what triggers Cystic Acne and how to get skin looking it's best.

Thank you Rozberry! I'm glad you commented on this. The acne I'm getting right now isn't exactly cystic but they are big and painful.
I've heard good stuff about all of those brands. Is Paula's choice available in stores or do I need to purchase online?

I believe only online, but she offers trial sizes so that's a plus. She also has an acne system. The reviews include a variety of acne sufferers and so I'd read them to see if that might be a good fit verses the Skin Perfecting BHA at 2% as a stand alone product.

I know you eat healthy, but pulling back on dairy and meat often makes a difference if hormones are at play.
A moisturizer with Nicatinamide helps calm skin and reduce acne. CeraVe AM and PM formulas both contain it.
Drinking Green Tea and splashing cool Green Tea on your face will reduce inflammation internally and externally. It's naturally anti-bacterial.
An all cotton pillowcase changed every 3rd day should also help.
Right now, with winter, local spas and salons are running facial specials. Hit up Yelp to see if there's a reputable, affordable place you can get a good deep cleaning facial to really start off with a bang. If not, no worries. Lasty, scented products and mineral oil are often triggers. Read your labels carefully. My best to you! :)
