First of all I find this really odd and I'd mostly likely never do this to my hair. I came across a YouTube video of a you tuber who has amazing hair and I mean like AMAZING. It's looks so long and healthy and in one of her Q&A videos she said she dyes the ends of her hair with hydrogen peroxide?? I'm confused bc that just seems really damaging. Has anyone heard/done this before?

It does sound really damaging but I have a friend who did that to a strand of her hair and it turned from black to brown and isn't damaged.

One of my friends did that in high school from black, went straight up yellow so it did lighten allot but her hair looked like scarecrow straw lol

Yeah but I think you have to be in the sun so that it lightens? I think my mom did that in the 90s and it made her hair lighter but it damaged it

I've done this, it didn't damage my hair at all, easy to get an ombré look using peroxide.

Please don't, it's very harsh on your hair it's too concentrated for hair. Just because it didn't damage someone else's hair doesn't mean it won't. you can try but it will suck the life out of your strands.

I really don't think you should do it. By looking at the color in your picture I can tell it might turn orange and it will do the same if you use bleach. If you want to go just a little lighter I suggest you use color. Everyone's hair reacts different so whatever you decide to do, do a strand test first.

Just going to add- all color mixed professionally has peroxide in it. The developer is a peroxide.

I'm a professional stylist, do not put straight peroxide on your hair. Yes, the developer used with lighteners is a peroxide however, it is at a controlled level and has added conditioners in it depending on the line being used. Your hair is incredibly dark (and very pretty) so your hair will lift to every color of the sunset and without proper toners to counteract the unwanted tones you're going to inevitably end up in your stylists hair paying a pretty penny for a correction. Simply put, this is basically the lowest of the low end of box color & that never ends well...please leave your pretty hair alone!! :)

Taryn said it well..just because something has an ingredient doesn't mean it's okay to use that ingredient on its own!! moderation...lol
