Hey everyone, I'm trying the RCMA foundation and I really like how natural it looks ,the only con is it doesn't last as long as I want it to last.
I'm using embryolisse as moisturizer and setting it with Ben nye neutral set.
Do you recommend any primer that can make it to wear longer?

Alma M.
Are you oily? If so you don't want to use the Rcma and especially if your using embryolisse with it.

I am normal to oily.

Good to know, I'll probably keep it for the winter months.

I'm trying to understand how it's not lasting please explain your concerns.

Do you recommend any cream foundation for my type of skin? kryolan dermacolor? Cinema secrets maybe? Or I should just skip cream stage foundations?

It starts to breakdown around three hour after I applied and looks a little patchy.

I wish it lasted at least 4 to 5 hours without having to worry about it.

Now I ask how much are you using? I've never had a break away issue with it so my concern is the amount you apply and how you apply it on your skin. For further assistance on the other brands you mentioned I would recommend Jackie to this thread since I have yet to try those out. I am however familiar with the RCMA and would love to help you get to the bottom of it all as I'm sure she would too so please understand why I'm asking questions first for a better understanding. :)

I use a very small amount a pea size, sometimes I have been tempted to use more just to see if it holds better.
I understand that no product is perfect for everyone.

But I really wanted it to be my holy grail

I applied it with my fingers and then I use a flat top kabuki brush from it cosmetics to blend.

Just use your fingers Smooth it over and don't apply on the oily area's. It's a wax product and a little goes a very long way. You might be over working it.

Also no primer needed.

Thanks for your help, I'll try it that way and see if I have better luck with it 😬

I'm very oily and used this and finally realized the best way I find it works is if I use a light dusting of powder on my face prior to putting on the foundation. It helps give a little bit of friction because once the foundation is warmed up its very slick and slides around especially if you're oily.
I find the Ben nye doesn't work that great for oily skin.
It's more for "all skin types" but if you're more on the oily side it doesn't hold up as well. Talc based powders don't do that great.
Try to get a powder that's rice or kaolin based cause those REALLY matte down and get rid of the oiliness especially since that foundations first two or three ingredients are actually emollients if I recall.
If you want a primer then I'd check out the Becca mattifying one which works pretty good.
You CAN use cream foundations you just have to work with them. I personally love these wax based ones cause they really smooth the skin out.
I find the RCMA one is a bit more work when it comes to oily skin.
I personally quite like the MAC Full Coverage cream foundation.
I liked the Kryolan Dermacolor for the colors they had I found that D3 worked amazing on my olive color but it has mineral oil in it which I feel may have been the culprit behind the product fading throughout the day although it made my skin look amazing and super smooth in photographs.
It felt more dry and I believe it worked pretty good on my oily skin, I didn't have to blot any more or any less then a regular foundation but another downside is I found it oxidized. D3 looks lighter in the pot and more golden but as I wore it throughout the day it became a darker sort of yellow/olive shade and matched me better though.
Oh and with RCMA just wash your face and use a light moisturizer, I prefer a glycerin based moisturizer cause throughout the years I found that they're hydrating but they are lightweight and don't making me excessively oily when I wear foundation

@Jacqueline, I used to go with the guide on using a foundation geared toward your skin type but powders didn't give the coverage I want on certain days plus most newer powder foundations have ingredients that make it more of a satin finish and ends up making me look shiny in a way that I don't like(plus I'd rather use a small amount of cream foundation than to keep adding more layers of powder foundation.) Then liquids geared towards oily skin I find don't give me the look I want, the only one that has was the Studio Fix Fluid.
I find creams are the most versatile, they can be mixed with oil to become more fluid and hydrating for drier skin or set with a powder to work better for oily skin.
I use the Full Coverage foundation from MAC for a few years and get a solid 10 hour wear despite being oily overall.
I think it depends on application and what's used to set it.
Talc based powder did not help (find that these work best for normal skin) and I could see if using those types of powders people find the foundation wouldn't work for oily skin but since I started using powder more for very oily skin I find that's what really makes it work.
There's this website where you can get a pound of cosmetic grade powder for about 5-7 dollars depending on whether its rice powder or kaolin. I prefer kaolin and find it works AMAZING on my skin and makes any foundation stay on.
I do agree that cream foundations are meant to be more hydrating but oily skin tends to be oily due to my skin being dehydrated which is why I actually have the Full Coverage foundation in my kit and use it on anyone, I find they're easy to mix and easy to work with to suit a certain skin type, it's especially handy for combination skin people where I could just use the cream by itself on the dry area and then just set with kaolin powder on the t-zone and they're good to go :)
@Maura, and another good cream foundation I forgot to mention is the MAC Studio Tech which is a cream-to-powder type of foundation which will give that coverage and look of a cream foundation but not needing to powder which I liked although didn't like the price per oz. but I have heard that the L'orèal True Match Compact makeup was a dupe for the studio tech foundation although I haven't tried it myself. :)

Jacqueline! My sensei, I use the RCMA foundation palettes when I work weddings. I love that I have pretty much any color right there to match anyone. Seeing as how the RCMA is no good for oily skin, is there another "foundation palette" brand (like Mehron?) that you would recommend? I'm looking for something just like the RCMA, something that helps me be able to just match anyone easily, but will also work with most skin types. Any advice? And thank you.
