regarding hair masks, Keune balm conditioner is a good affordable option...otherwise Macadamia Deep treatment mask is the BOMB...its super duper amazing but too expensive

Oils will break down the the and make the red fade faster. you could always do it just a bit before recoloring it.

I don't recommend using oils on "fantasy colored" hair, it fades so fast anyway, it doesn't need any help! I'd look more into a weekly conditioning masque instead.

Yes oils will fade dye especially hot oil treatments. And the process of washing it out would require a lot of shampooing.

I hate using coconut oil for any hair color I have because it does fade color. I also don't think it does anything special like some people think... I would much rather use a hair mask that is specifically for hair; I love that Macadamia hair mask that Rida posted. A little pricey but Ulta has travel sizes for $12 and the last a long time. Make sure you get the Nourishing NOT the Ultra Rich (I hate this one, not the same as the other!)

It won't fade your red hair!! I have bright red hair as well and I love using coconut oil as a mask! I leave it in over night and I wash it out in the morning. It helps keep my ends from splitting and helps keep my hair glossy rather than fried. Just be careful of what shampoo/conditioner that you're using and all is good :) If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Also, I have had red hair for about 2 years now (just recently dyed it bright red) and I have never had an experience of coconut oil fading my hair color. My sister has had silver, lilac purple, and bright pink hair and she has never had an experience of coconut oil fading her hair color either :)
